Week 4
Discussion of the gravitational waves detected, confirming Einstein’s theory!
Prof. Walsh shares artwork. Individual meetings with students.
Teaching Assistant Matthew Hannigan introduces final project.
(Note: BioArt will be discussed at a later date.)
Homework: Create a character or an overall idea inspired by science and art for a graphic novel.
Describe your initial idea in 3 – 4 sentences. You may have more than one idea. Be bold and use your imagination!
DUE: Post your idea on course blog by Monday 2/22, 8:00 pm.

I am going to write about a Mushroom cloud after a explosion, how does he see the world and how did he be produced. what is the realationship between art and science on mushroom cloud. Because mushroom cloud is very amazing and kind of beautiful, but only explosion can produce it. The principle of explosion. Thats the story gonna about.

My idea is for a scientist who is able to harness the power of nature in order to create completely environmentally stable communities. The world in which the story takes place is in rapid decline, entering another mass extinction period with massive government turmoil. With the scientists extreme intelligence and innovation, not only has humanity been saved by the destruction, but the environment is progressively recovering after years of destructive behavior. Through the communities that the scientist develops, the future generations are taught to respect nature. The scientist is celebrated until the end of time, as her contributions saved the world from extinction.

My idea for a character would probably be a scientist who creates a new type of instrument which makes beautiful sounds. She would collaborate with artists and musicians to help create the sound and design it to give those who listen to it incredible images in their heads. Another idea I have is a scientist creating a plant that mimics your movements but one day begins learning how to adapt and become its own human-like being.

In my novel, i will write the story about god in the world. Because Western and Eastern both have their own hero, and there is a movie called The Gold Of Egypt will be released on February 25th. If these gods have a meeting one day, what will happen between them. For example, the people who called Hades control death, but there is the same people also has the same responsibility. It will be funny when they meet each other.

I think I miI think I would write about the sun in our solar system about its past and probable future life. I would start off with the big bang and then it would progress into a black hole. I would write about how the sun and its effects on the planets and other surroundings. Another idea I had was a comic about an organism that has survived through a lot, such as a story of the bonsai tree that survived Hiroshima or a long living redwood or sequoia tree and how humans have affected them.

My idea for the graphic novel involves combining chemistry and art. The characters would be elements of the periodic table that have incomplete valence shells. The text would describe their journey to complete valence shells. The art aspect would be centered around illustrations of chemical reactions and the filling of orbitals.

My idea of a graphic novel is to combine biology with a movie. To say, the function of phagocytes is to eat all the bad stuff present in the cell. I may not be very specific, but that is almost its function. I would like to relate it to “Big hero six” in which the main character would eat all the bad people because he is hungry. I would like to work on something like that.

We all know the babies don’t have the language ability. So people cannot learn about baby’s thought through language. In my novel, I will write a scientist who judge baby’s thought or emotion through experiment and explore the reason why the babies produce this emotion. The second idea I had was if a baby has the mathematical capabilities. I will write a scientist make an interesting experiment to prove this assumption. In the experiment, scientist will show the art and science.

My novel is about a journey of polar area for exploring auroras. Because auroras is one of the world’s most famous and spectacular solar phenomena, which caused by collisions between air molecules and charged particles from the sun that are trapped in the earth’s magnetic. Many artists dream to view and record it. However, to detect aurora, people need scientific approach and they also have to withstand the extreme climate walking in the polar area where nearly lives are not able to live.

An artist want’s to create a piece that is the most scientifically appealing to humans. He studies geometry and the human psyche for years until he creates his masterpiece. He makes headlines and has his opening premier at a famous gallery with an audience filled with celebrities and aristocrats. The gallery lights go dim and a spotlight is pointed to the artist with his masterpiece covered with a sheet. The artist starts his grand reveal, pulling the cover into the air and revealing a blank white canvas.

My idea for the project would be about a real person in the past. As main character ‘Leonardo Da Vinci’, I would briefly describe about his life, background of the society at that time, and his own scientific theories specifically. The text would be also involved his inventions which were related with physics such as ‘parachute’, ’flights’, or ‘helicopter’ etc. Through his documents of scientific principle with drawing, it would be great resources for focusing on topic ‘science and art’.

One idea I have for a graphic novel is to write about a future city where all of its resources are natural, organic and self-sustaining. I feel that we are still very wasteful and are not too eager to change the way we have vehicles run or cutting down so many forests. I would like to write about about a city that is eco-friendly and still has the ability to function as a normal city. The other idea I have is to have humans witness certain situations in outer space. I was thinking maybe a futuristic space ship where people can witness firsthand a planet or a comet passing through. I think watching something happen in outer space is very different than looking at it through a telescope or probe. I would like to write about these 2 different scenarios.

For my idea for a main character for a graphic novel would be an animal that spread joy wherever it/he/she goes. It would spread ideas, art, and other joyous activities which would cause people to smile, laugh, and ultimately, create a world with joy, rather than war, disease, and other. The animal would cure diseases, depression, and all other things keeping people from succeeding in life.

My idea for a graphic novel would be the life of an any colony who has yet to discover their new world around them. They will all work together to interpret and analyze their surroundings in order to benefit their colony as a goal. They will be anthropomorphic and will have similar traits as humans. Along their journey, they’ll encounter many aspects of nature that parallel or are shaped by mathematical ideas, and they are little scientists who will analyze these mathematical principles for their own use. Geometric designs in addition to the ants ability to survey a wide area randomly parallel the ways computers use algorithms to survey complex data structures.

Im hoping to do something relating to DNA replication, making A T G C U different characters. Potentially make the actual replication something the characters are looking forward to and narrate the journey through the process.
