New Light is an organization based out of Kolkata that takes care of children without family members that can support them. These are often the children of women who are forced to work in the sex industry in some capacity, and cannot care for them. New Light was founded by Urmi Basu who says that the organization is about providing “education, healthcare and nutritional support, as well as the opportunity to live free of abuse, violence and stigma to more than two hundred children of sex workers.” New Light is another great example of women fighting to help women.
