Damage caused by plant-translocated Roundup

Can GM Soybeans Translocate Enough Roundup to Harm Earthworms and Soil Microbes?

The students involved in this research are using Roundup-resistant soybeans. They’ll spray half of them with Roundup, making sure none of the herbicide gets into the soil. They’ll wait a month or so, extract the earthworms, and measure survivorship, body weight, and resilience in the face of heat and light stress. They’ll also measure soil respiration. Keep watching here for their results. They’ll be presenting their work at URECA 2017.
