Welcome to Group 3’s Historiography Project.

This project is here to talk about all things dictionary, technology and society.

The dictionary has played a significant part in the development and use of our language throughout society and with the introduction of technology, how the dictionary is used and printed has changed quite a bit.

Through this website, we hope to discuss how editors pick words to add to the dictionary, the dictionary’s relationship with slang, how the urban dictionary has developed and why it was necessary.

We wish to demonstrate that dictionaries need to be fluid and how viewing the dictionary as an “authority” is harmful and based on misconception.
