What you discovered as a Portrait Photographer

       This is a very interesting project. Since the difference between portraiture and landscape shooting is quite big. When shooting landscapes, there is not much room for photographers, since the object won’t move, we can only select different angles to have our own idea presented through the photograph. However, the portraiture, which requires communication with others, photographers can not only show the idea of their own through the photo but also, we can present the person’s unique personality.

When I was shooting the photos of strangers, I first found that was hard for me to let them pose the way I want after talking to them that I am going to take a picture of them, instead of that, I start walking around, looking for good posed people, snapped, then ask them if they let me showing this photos to others. It makes the photos more realistic and interesting. People sometimes don’t know what position they were at and how interesting they were posed. After showing them the photos I took, mostly, I receive an OK for the use of the picture.

For me, I think the most important thing of taking a portrait for people is to keep the real personality of the people, don’t let them do something that they would never do in real life.
