Final Project: Silk of Motion

My final project, “Silk of Motion,” focuses on those thin and fading lines left by cars as they zip down the streets in search of their next destination. I like to think of the light of each long exposure like the breath of the subsequent passenger, marking the spots that we have been to. I find myself drawn to the inherent contradiction: the speed and dynamism of a vehicle transformed into something serene and almost painterly. It’s a way of slowing down the relentless pace, of finding a quiet beauty in the mundane flow of traffic.
