Our class’s “Natural Environment” Project was my favorite to complete this semester. I’m really big into hiking and the outdoors so getting the opportunity to bring my camera on a hike with my friends was something I was excited to be able to do again with this self-directed project. As you can see through my photos, I have documented close-up images of nature. During the hike, the scenic forests and beaches weren’t lining up with the standards I liked in my photography until I started staring at a huge log of driftwood near the bluffs of Lloyd Harbor. I pointed my camera at different angles of the woods and liked how the patterns and textures of the wood appeared through the lens. This inspired the series of images for this project.
