Work Statement
The castle motifs signify my mind and how powerful it can be. As the castle crumbles, it shows how debilitating the mind can be as I have gone through my life experiences and traumas. The castle placement in the middle of the ocean depicts the loneliness I feel, while the chess board-like floor depicts mindgames; tying back to the theme of feeling like I’m being used by the pawn motif in my first piece. The emotions I feel in daily life are meant to be depicted in my ominous-like environments I have created, further enhancing the sense of discomfort and eeriness in one’s subconscious.
