Hello!

My name is Daniel Suite (but I generally just go by Dan), and I am currently a first year masters student pursuing a degree and certification in medical physics. In particular I am pursuing a clinical position in the diagnostic imaging sector of medical physics.

I am generally interested in most things that are considered “nerdy.” Star Wars? Lord of the Rings? Video Games? Dungeons and Dragons? All of the above. I have a BS in physics with a minor in computer science and a BA in astronomy, both from SUNY New Paltz. I have a passion for astronomy, not only in the fact that anything to do with space is inherently interesting, but also for the unique perspective that it gives. My favorite quote that emphasizes this perspective is from Carl Sagan’s “Pale Blue Dot: A Vision of  the Human Future in Space,” along with the picture of the pale blue dot itself which can be seen at the top of the page.

“Look again at that dot. That’s here. That’s home. That’s us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every “superstar,” every “supreme leader,” every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there-on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.”
