What is important to women in the job industry? What does the average women want at work? In February 2013, 5,300 working women were surveyed across 13 countries by LinkedIn to better understand the challenges women face in their careers. What was found is that the majority of women (60%) identified that work-life balance was the most important factor when defining their personal success in a career. LinkedIn blogger Nicole Williams wrote how we can build flexibility into our career using these 4 simple steps:
- Build a name for yourself – fill out a LinkedIn profile in its entirety!
- Be heard – Speak about your professional brand, in and outside of work and on the web
- Be informed – Demonstrate your productivity and leverage it for flexibility
- Don’t reinvent the wheel – Learn from others that were in your position. Research!
