Urban Renewal

New York has become the global capital for the art world, and yet all we see around the city is advertisements for everything besides art (well there’s Broadway and their shows). I have vandalized all the billboards to show, what I feel, is a better representation of the spirit of the city. These graffitis and tags exist all over the city, yet they’re hidden away on the older buildings and dark alleyways while companies show off their products across skyscrapers.

Color vs Black&White

Inspired by Aaron Siskind’s work, I took to the streets of Flushing and captured as many pictures of graffiti as I could find. I emphasized the beautiful colors of the paint on the left image and then the textures of the walls they were on on the right image.
