Hi! My name is Komala Ingle and I am a graduate student studying biomedical engineering at Stony Brook University. I am a part of the 5 year B.E./M.S. program with an expected masters graduation date of May 2025.
During the sophomore year of my undergraduate studies, I began working in the Gastrointestinal Translational Research Lab under my advisor, Dr. Agnieszka Bialkowska, where I have continued working since. I have been involved in a multitude of projects, including novel treatment of pancreatic cancer, signaling pathways in acute pancreatitis, and currently, understanding the effects of radiation injury on the regeneration of the intestinal epithelium.
Between my studies of biomedical engineering and being involved in molecular biology research, I have gained a wide range of skills, experiences, and an appreciation for solving biological challenges. Upon my graduation, I aim to apply my skills to industry to create a patient-focused impact through scientific research.
