TLT Student Technologists help answer students’ questions about issues with DoIT Services. On my first day of shadowing the Student Technologist at the Help Desk located in North Reading Room CoLA, I was introduced to a broader sense of responsibilities a student technologist has. This post is titled Introducing Student Help Desk Responsibilities. Throughout my shadowing experience, I will continue to learn more about what to do in certain situations and be mindful as to what to ask so I can better assist the client.

Diane, My other mentor, is camera shy however I have posted a photo of Cha-An’s Creme Brulee because she was the first person to introduce me to the resturant and the dessert and I couldn’t have picked a better delicious looking photo to highlight her passion for great tasting dessert.
Throughout my shadowing hours, I got to know a little about my mentors and that’s what really made my shadowing hours really enjoyable because I would learn from their stories and what they have encountered when they worked in the CoLA. I also learned a little about how they would address certain random situations.
Both mentors are equally knowledgeable about their role as a Student Help Desk Consultant. They have taught me a lot about the responsibilities that Student Help Desk Consultants have but the one thing they both focused on is making sure we help the client/user as much as we can before we send them off to another person. They have done a great job of teaching me about TLT and also about what it is like to be a Senior Consultant.
