We are almost towards the end of the semester. This also means that the TLT Internship is coming to an end. Today, Ryan and I talked about odd ball scenarios and what to do during those situations. It made me realize that a lot of the things we learn is through experience and how we handle things and how we see how others handle things.
I feel like I am ready to be in charge of the Main Library SINC Site with my fellow colleagues however I know there will be something that I will not be able to handle or I will panic a little inside. I leave that to chance. I will change that as I learn to calm myself down and be confident in what I do.
Ryan taught me as much as he could and continue to teach me as much as he could. He is a great mentor and is very receptive of people’s thought’s. We were talking about the future of TLT and how, when I become a Senior Consultant, will improve the SINC Sites. I have never thought of that before nor thought about what I would be after I completed the internship, however I did have an idea.
I knew that I enjoyed helping people and thought Help Desk was the best bet for me but I started to become open to other options as I continue to ask the current Senior Consultants about what they do. At this point, I have become very confused about my future but that’s okay because after learning all the technical stuff about TLT and the SINC Sites, learning about myself and where I work best will help me make my time next year as a senior consultant worth while.
Along with having my own personal reflection with the help of Ryan, I went onto Lynda.com to check out more videos and add them to my playlist so I can watch later on. I am really excited about these videos because I have been on other massive open online course websites (MOOCs) and they have helped me learn a lot. I am very excited to watch my “communicating professionally” playlist that I created during the internship class.
