I definitely learned a lot about client support and what the department offers. The one thing that stuck out to me were the three level of services of university-owned computers. . I did not know that client support places priorities on certain computers and the type of issues that need to be looked at.

I look forward to their future plans as to changing all the computer operator to windows 8 and hiring more student employees. I think that will pose great challenges but also great opportunities.

AV PhotosA/V Services: Jennifer Sang and Jane Eunah Lee

I learned a lot about the services A/V offers. I found that the A/V office is very important for professors and students because if the technology in a lecture hall is not working it can make or break the class. I look forward to see the new technologies we are going to incorporate on campus .

Teaching, Learning and Technology: Amy Chen and Victoria Tan

Although Teaching, Learning and Technology is the department we work extremely close with (only because we are part of it), there are still lots to learn for the future. I definitely enjoy being updated on the changed that will happen and how the technology fee will be used throughout the years.

Amy and Victoria showcased the consultants very well. It is great to acknowledge our colleagues because they do great work and they help a lot of people. The way they do their work is a reflection on the senior consultants and the department.

TLT is very crucial because we are the front line of students helping students (and faculty, sometimes). We try to serve the Stony Brook students and faculty as best as we can as well as teaching them how to use various programs that are offered on campus.

CaptureInstructional Technology: Erika Ocampo and Lillian Luu

Erika and I focused on the services that instructional technology provides. They are very common on campus but most people do not even use them all to the best of their abilities. I learned a lot about my experience while talking to Jen Adams. From her, I learned that you can download videos from SB Capture and watch it on the go. I can catch up with work on the LIRR or even in the car. I really enjoy that flexibility because I am constantly working and I do not always have access to the internet. I think the biggest service that I am looking forward to utilizing more is Lynda. I like watching videos and learning about various thing. Although I prefer being in class, I do not mind much about video watching because the speaker tries to be interactive and it feels like you are in class.

One thing I am truly excited about is the TEDxSBU event in the Fall. I enjoy watching TED talks and last year’s event was a success.
