So this week, we actually did not have our friday class however TLT participated in the Roth Regatta event. The theme this year was Video Games. We decided to do a pokemon and came up with Charizard. Jilliane Kayla Abella, a senior consultant, spear headed the project and many TLT consultants tried to make this project happen. It started out really slow. Few people showed up to help but as the week went on, more and more people came. We started out with the body and then worked on the head and tail. We used a lot of duct tape (25+ rolls) and a lot of cardboard (courtesy of TLT Paper Boxes). It was a fun adventure.
During the regatta, the boat lasted only a couple of seconds before it collapsed. However we were able to salvage the head. The photo on the left is a picture of our last day building the boat. It was taken by Peiwei Lo, a consultant for TLT. I am in the top left photo with my back turned in the purple shirt, I had no idea that a photo was being taken.
There were lots of people helping out, senior cons, interns and regular consultants. We started with a base and worked out way up to the details. It was a very fun experience and you gain a lot from it.
Special Thanks To:
