Proposal:

For this project I want to show a scene that will bring about the feeling of a nostalgia toward childhood and fairytales. It is because everyone I know seems to be growing up too fast. My friends and family only worry about the future and seem to forget the happiness they experienced from the past; they also find it a taboo to indulge in enjoying “things for children” because they are supposed to be grown-up and adults. I feel that everyone should be able to dream, even if they will never be reality. I will be creating a scene with a teddy bear, a girl and a parasol. It is because the teddy bears will make us think of being children and the parasol is something we only see in costumes, and are not part of our everyday reality.

• Lace Parasol
• Feminine Outfit

Result of the shoot:

I did follow what intended to do, as shown in the picture on the right. However, after some experimenting on the shoot, I seemed to have a better contender that gives me an additional narrative to the story I wanted to tell. Instead of focusing so much on the past and fairytale, the final picture also incorporates the future that we are afraid to know about, and the need for everyone that is running toward that future to take a break and detour to find themselves.
