PSY 273 Guidelines
Some tips on finding a position in a lab:
1. Browse the listing above to find labs that are of interest to you.
2. Write a very detailed email to the labs that you are interested in.
Include any information you wish, such as:
- Name
- Year in school
- Psychology courses already taken & scheduled for next semester
- Current GPA
- Why you are interested in being a research assistant
- What do you wish to do in the future – is Psychology something you wish to continue with?
- Is graduate school something you are looking into?
- Availability – when you would be able to work in the lab (hint: the more available the better)
3. Copy and paste this email to several different labs (rather than bulk emailing which doesn’t look good).
4. If a lab has space for your availability, they will contact you and set up an interview.
Good luck!
