Farewell to Graduating Lab Members

Three undergraduate students Sofya Pugach, Richie Ramdhanie and Connor Watson graduated in Spring from Biomedical Engineering Department. All 3 of them worked in Qin Lab on multiple projects in their senior year. Connor will join Ph.D. program at Penn State University while Sofya will join Cornell University for M.E. program. Richie will return to Stony Brook University to join M.S. program. We wish them good luck in their future endeavors!

Two high school students undertook research projects in Qin lab: Maggie Chen from Canyon Crest Academy, CA, and Brandon Wong from Bergen County Academies, NJ). The students presented their research finding at the end of the program poster presentation session.

Chaudhry Hassan and Xiaofei Li awarded Scholars in Biomedical Sciences (SBMS) seed grant
July 14th, 2017

Chaudhry Raza Hassan and Xiaofei Li were awarded year long SBMS seed grant by the Stony Brook School of Medicine to carry out clinical translational research. Chaudhry will work on varus angle correction of osteoarthritic patient through bone osteotomy. Xiaofei work will be based on low intensity pulse ultrasound to mitigate cartilage degeneration and subchondral bone sclerosis in knee osteoarthritis. Annual lab BBQ at Smith Point Beach

Even we are growing up, we should never stop having fun.

QIN lab had an annual lab BBQ at one of the most gorgeous beaches in Long Island, the Smith Point Beach on July 24th. We are greatly honored to have several guests coming from afar to join in us, e.g. Prof. Bo Huo from Beijing Institute of Technology, Prof. Weimin Deng from General Hospital of Guangzhou Military Command, Prof. Ya Wang from Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Ete Chan from Biomedical Engineering Department, and Dr. Li Liu from Center for Biotechnology at Stony Brook University.

Summer means happy times together and going to the beach to have fun.

 A new paper has been published by Dr. Liangjun Lin on The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America (JASA)
December 8th, 2014
Although he has graduated in August 2014 with a Doctoral Degree from the lab, Dr. Liangjun Lin published a paper titled “Enhanced correlation between quantitative ultrasound and structural and mechanical properties of bone using combined transmission-reflection measurement” on the The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America (JASA) on December 8th, 2014
