We are The Strokes: a group of aspiring doctors and engineers dedicated to researching wearable stroke technology and its applications. Our primary goal is to improve the quality of treatment for patients undergoing stroke rehabilitation, and we intend to achieve this goal through three main ways:

1) Provide reliable and accurate information about the nature of strokes, their impacts and their treatments.
2) Make information on wearable stroke technology and treatment easily accessible.
3) Improve upon limitations and challenges of current wearable stroke technology, improving quality of life for the patients ease of access for doctors and researchers.

We were motivated to create a custom stroke rehab device based on the observations regarding challenges that people face with current options. Many existing devices are expensive, hard to access, or not modular enough to meet each person’s needs. Knowing how hard recovery can be for stroke survivors and their families, we wanted to make something more affordable, easier to use, and better suited to help people regain their strength and independence. We aim to improve the recovery process and enhance life activities/performances for stroke patients. With our work, we hope to improve the functionality and ease of access associated with wearable stroke monitors. As wearable motion monitors continue to advance, we aim to ensure that future models will remain minimally invasive while continuing to provide increasingly efficient information and feedback.
