These first few photos were taken in Rachel’s room.

What I did for the photos of this project was I told her to act out a scenario such as stressing over a paper on the laptop, or trying to go to sleep but can’t because of stress. You may notice that the sleeping photos are a little dark. That’s because I only had one light on to give the impression that it is nighttime while still being able to show her face.

These photos were shot in our living room.

This was also shot indoors. My original plan for this scene was to have her feel sad from breaking up with a boyfriend and have the color with her and me posing as her boyfriend. That approach would require another person to hold the camera but I only had Rachel to work with. I also wanted to shot the scene outside but it was raining on the day of the photo shot and Rachel is very limited on time. What I decided to do instead was pose her with our dog, Hershey for this scene. The black and white shot was meant to portray her felling sad about the dog giving the sense that the dog died (even though the picture she is holding is actually of our previous dog, Dizney). The color shot is self explanatory as Rachel is seen happily bonding with Hershey.

This scene was shot in Rachel’s car. I was very limited to how I was able to get this shot. That is because again, it was raining while I was photographing these scenes so I couldn’t be outside to shoot the photograph. This was shot in the front seat of the car because I figured that angle would be the best view possible to see her face whether she was stressed or happy.
