Getting Started: What is Wabi Sabi?

Wabi sabi is described as the art of imperfection. This can relate to many things, and in the modern day is often seen with architecture and design.

Wabi sabi finds its origins in Zen Buddhism, and was said to be the first step in achieving enlightenment, or “satori.”

I have decided to take a further look into some traditional zen monuments and architecture, particularly those in Japan.
