Synopsis:

Currently a very large upper level ridge encompassing the Eastern United States. Hurricane Maria, which is currently off the coast of the Carolina’s, will continue to travel North, but will weaken and slow over the next few days due to this ridge and start to veer off Eastward. Easterly surface and 925 millibar winds will blow much moisture over the Long Island to produce a humid atmosphere.
