Hi everyone! My name is Annie and I am a junior at Stony Brook University studying biochemistry with a minor in writing.

Taking WRT302 this semester, I had to create a research project that incorporated topics regarding the digital age of technology and its impact on writing. When first presented with the project, one potential topic drew my attention: voice to text dictation. After working in a private podiatry office and an ER, I have been exposed to various ways in which physicians document patient encounters and use dictation. To consider clinical documentation from a writer’s aspect was very intriguing to me and inspired this project.
