About Me

This picture was inspired by how often, when taking the perfect selfie, we end up taking many, many pictures that are just slightly altered in pose/ position/ expression/ lighting/ camera angle/ etc. That, combined with the idea of composite portraiture as well as the multicolored aesthetic of old 3D films, formed the basis for this surrealistic selfie.

I focused the images together on my left eye (right in the image) of the base image since it was the portion that changed the least. Then, made each selfie a combination of only certain RBG composites. I settled on this final combination of colors, layering and opacities because I felt that it best brought out both the similarities and differences in each selfie and most effectively brought my vision to life. This seemingly normal combination also becomes almost horrific if you look at it too long/ too closely, which adds another element of tension to the image.
