A lack of inclusivity in design teams, as well as neglecting to include or consult a diverse range of stakeholders, can easily result in failure or at the least poor design which fails to perform its intended function for most potential users. For some important examples, I recommend the books “Technically Wrong” by Sara Wachter-Boettcher and “Race After Technology” by Ruha Benjamin.
