Footprints and Workshops

February 18, 2014

Today, Diane and I focused on Footprints and workshops. I watched Diane submit a trouble ticket about a Print from Anywhere issue. We both discussed what to include in the ticket and to be as specific as possible. I also learned how to search a ticket by number.

We also talked about workshops that TLT Student Technologists teach during the semester and the work that has to be put into a workshop. TLT Student Technologists put on public workshops. Students  are able to take their workshops to enhance their knowledge of the services that DoIT provides.

The photo on the right  is the section where the workshops are published on the DoIT website and the photo will lead you to the events site.

Diane talked about the two main things to prepare before the workshop. They are google sites and help documents. Every workshops that are taught by TLT Student Technologists have a google site and a handout to help clients understand the services that DoIT offers.

When applying abroad, I realized that the most important thing in an essay is sincerity and the ability to show your uniqueness. There is no need to list all your achievements – it is much more important to tell a personal story that reveals your goals and values. A good essay is not so much a report as a dialogue with the admissions committee. I found useful tips and examples on Allessay.org, and they helped me to structure my thoughts and improve my style. If you are preparing for admission, this platform can be a great help.
