Report Card on Excess Nutrients in the Marine Environment: How Are We Doing?
Registration and speaker information coming soon!
Directions and building information
This year’s conference will focus on efforts to reduce the amount of nitrogen we are putting into our coastal waters. For years we have known that excess nitrogen is problematic in systems like bays and the Long Island Sound, where the water receives limited circulation. It’s time to take a look at what we’ve been doing to fix this and how well it’s working. The event will also give an inside look at the new methods that are being developed to limit nitrogen that’s being put into the water.
The 2016 NYMSC conference will bring together experts from different states, agencies, and research groups to work on improving how we deal with excess nitrogen in the marine environment. The event will also include a poster competition for undergraduate and graduate students, with a $250 prize. Attendees and students who wish to compete in the poster session should stay tuned for registration and for the conference agenda, both of which will be available shortly.
