Just a rock

This makeup is based on the poem “Just a rock” by Kathy Jetn̄il-Kijiner. My concept was to portray Lidepdepju who to some appears as a stone and others appears as a goddess. This was my first attempt at a “stone” makeup but my idea was to make myself into a statue where part of the statue was broken with nothing underneath it but other parts have the goddess Lidepdepju poking though. I chose to give her gold features because gold is a color associated with beauty and it’s a stone found in the earth.
