3D Printing – On Display

Research Technologies proudly presents a 3D display case! Not only is the case in 3D, but the objects inside are 3D too! Only the objects are 3D printed though, apologies for any disappointment. Come see what the hubbub is all about in the ECC building on the second floor, past the IT Suite and learn more about 3D printing. Stop by and have a chat!

3D Printing – Flexibility and Innovation

A video from the New York Times explains exactly why 3D printing is the next big thing in manufacturing and design, with applications from the mundane to the life changing.

Not only is 3D printing revolutionizing the way things are created and designed, rapid prototyping offers manufacturers and designers the ability to do just that – create working prototypes within an hour or two of conception of the idea, leading the way to solutions for tangle-free headphones and an artificial skull created to fit exactly one person, saving a life.

Unpacking our 3D Printer!

Research Technologies has undergone a Pilot project on assessing how 3D Printing (adaptive prototyping) can assist the research community at Stony Brook University.
