Education

I am currently a senior at SUNY Stony Brook University in Long Island as a Biology major on the pre-dental track. Throughout my college career, I’ve had the pleasuringof attending four different universities. Upon graduating, I was accepted to Northeastern University. The staff of the institution offered a study abroad program for first year accepted students. I thought this was a great way to step out of my comfort zone, be independent, and explore the world out there on my own. Therefore, I had the pleasure of studying at the American College of Thessaloniki in Greece for my very first semester of college.

I came back to Northeastern University in Spring 2015 where I started my pre-dental career track and became involved in the Hungtington News and several dance related activities.

During my junior year, I transferred to Stony Brook University where I continued pursuing dentistry and joined the Philippine United Students Organization (PUSO) as well as its urban dance team, PUSO Modern. Check out more information about these organizations in the Dance subsection of my Interests section.

During the summer of my junior year, my friends and I went to watch a dance competition called Body Rock in California, where we saw world-renowned teams compete. Afterwards, we stayed in Los Angeles to take dance class at many famous dance studios such as Millennium Dance Complex, Movement Lifestyle, Snowglobe Perspective, and the Kinjaz Dojo. I felt as if my journey there was short-lived, and I wanted to continue training in Los Angeles. In addition, I knew that there were many great dental schools in Los Angeles, such as UCLA School of Dentistry and USC School of Dentistry. Therefore, I decided to take some summer classes at UCLA this past summer so that I can continue training in dance as well as obtain a glimpse of the UCLA School of Dentistry by volunteering there.

My journey at UCLA lasted for about 6 weeks. I came back to Stony Brook for my senior year and will be graduating in December 2017. I am extremely thankful for my education. I have a strong conviction that there is a purpose behind every action. If I hadn’t decided to attend Northeastern, I would’ve never had the opportunity to study abroad. If I hadn’t decided to attend Stony Brook, I wouldn’t had the opportunity to join PUSO and meet my friends who I had the pleasure of traveling to California with. I’ve truly had a unique education through college, and my experience has taught me how to adapt to different environments. I am truly thankful for my education
