During freshman year at Northeastern University, I developed a great interest in writing for the news column. I joined the staff of the student run newspaper at Northeastern, called The Huntington News as a staff correspondent. The following year, I became the Deputy News Editor. Throughout my time, I wrote 11 articles and edited about 70 regarding various topics in Boston and at Northeastern including botany research, homelessness, and trafficking. Writing for the school news significantly improved my time management skills as I had to meet deadlines on a weekly basis. Furthermore, I improved upon existing communication skills through interviews about 30 different individuals for the news columns. Below are several of the publications I wrote.

Support Needed for Sex Trafficking Survivors
Crowds cheered at the University of Phoenix Stadium and all across New England last month as the Patriots secured a victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX. But on game day, away from the excitement of the field and the bleachers filled with fans, a very different scene was unfolding as the FBI worked to rescue potential human sex trafficking victims from pimps. In 2014, 25 people were rescued, while the FBI apprehended 45 pimps.
