Evolution of the brain – Final GBM (11/29)

Hi everyone!

We hope you all had a great Thanksgiving break! As you know, there are only 2 weeks left before the finals, and we wanted to announce our last GBM of the semester which we are holding in Life Sciences Seminar room 038 at 7pm this week (as usual)!

We will be featuring Dr. Jeroen Smaers in a talk about the evolution of the human brain. We will be discussing his research, and everyone will have an opportunity to participate and ask questions!

We will see you there!

Sincerely,

The NeSA

Eyes and Optical Illusions (11/15)

Hello everyone!

This week, we’ll go over how the visual system and optical illusions work. We’ll also have crafting materials so everyone can make their own Newton disk that creates an optical illusion!

As a reminder, we won’t have a general body meeting next week due to Thanksgiving. Additionally, there won’t be any Neurobiology or Neurology grand rounds that week.

GBMs are held at 7pm in Life Sciences Seminar room 038.

Sincerely,

The NeSA

Red Watch Band Collaboration (11/8)

Hi everyone!

Here is a quick update on our upcoming GBM.

This Wednesday (11/8), Neuroscience Axis is collaborating with SBU Red Watch Band to raise awareness of the effects of alcohol and toxic drinking on the brain. Students will have a chance to learn how to intervene and prevent serious injuries when it comes to excessive alcohol consumption from the Red Watch Band team. Complete a quick training and get your official certificate!

Let’s help to promote peace and safety on our campus!

As usual, the GBM will be held in the Seminar Room 038 of Life Sciences at 7pm on Wednesday. We hope to see you all there!

Sincerely,

The NeSA
