Waiter, At Your Service Staffing, Sayville, NY (May ’13-Present)

At Your Service is an agency that provides waiters to catering halls, country clubs and private parties all across Long Island and New York City. We specialize in providing top-notch service in high-end, banquet settings. A key element of our success is the development and implementation of teamwork strategies on the fly, that help us to operate more efficiently. The environment can often be very fast paced and functioning on a large scale, but by knowledgeably and effectively working together, it becomes more enjoyable and easier to get immersed in. In addition to providing table service, we often set up and break down these large scale events, and to some extent even assist in the planning and assemblage of future events. Additionally, we place a strong emphasis on our relationship with the client, striving to provide the best, most flexible service possible.

Counselor, North Shore Day Camp (June ‘11-August ’11)

I applied to North Shore Day Camp in the summer of 2011 in search of a new experience. After attending a handful of orientations, I embarked on an 8 week, 40 day journey that would surely open my eyes to a number of great experiences. On any given day, another counselor and I guided our group of 19 third graders through a 7 hour itinerary, 5 days a week. Additionally, I provided help during bi-daily pool time, while also assisting in running of the tennis and video game clubs. We helped our campers partake in daily activities that were both sports and non-physically oriented. A key element of the NSDC philosophy was the implementation of the STARFISH program, an acronym that teaches and rewards campers for exemplary behavior. In addition, I was granted the opportunity to coach a team in the league sports challenge, which included third and fourth grade campers indiscriminately broken up into groups; our team ended up placing first overall in the competition.

Customer Service Representative, CVS/Pharmacy (July ‘08-August ‘10)

Starting in 2008, working in the front store of CVS was my first job. Mainly, I helped customers in their shopping, communicating related suggestions that would be of assistance. Maintaining order of appearance in front store by cleaning and facing the aisles was an essential task, often undervalued in the overall management of the store. I started off as a cashier, ultimately moving the floor as time progressed, but still remained a valuable option as a cashier. Once per week, a shipment came in, in which I helped unload the truck, sort the goods in the stock room, and assist in unpacking the various containers of stock storewide. In addition to this, I played a role in expediting the replenishment of stock as well as checking the aisles for expiration dates on anything perishable.
