The Memory Pouch as to fit a File Folder
- Cut 2 rectangles (1 of main fabric and one for lining) measuring 30″ (32″) long and 10″ (12″) wide.
- Cut the top to make a Triangle (see picture in link above).
- Place the lining on top of the main fabric and sew together a 1/2″ inch seam around leaving a small opening for turning it inside out.
- Turn inside out.
- Fold the bottom up to beginning of the triangle to make the pocket (12in.)
- Sew the two sides together. This will make the pocket.
- Sew ribbon for tie at the point of the triangle.
- Fold the triangle and measure where the other part of ribbon tie should be and tack it on.
- Alternative Closure: Stitch bow of 1/4 inch ribbon to point of flap; sew Velcro dots to underside of flap and body of bag.
- Cut double sided quilted fabric 18×38 inches.
- Cut lining to same dimensions.
- Find the center of one end and mark. Measure 5.5 inches down on each side. Cut from center mark to side mark on both sides to create a triangle. Cut lining to match.
- Place lining on top of quilted fabric, right side down; sew with a 1/2 inch seam, all around, leaving an opening to turn right side out.
- Turn right side out.
- Turn bottom up 15 inches. Find center of bottom edge and mark 2.5″ inches down. Place a 2″ inch strip of Velcro at this point.
- Sew the sides together forming a pocket.
- Sew other half of Velcro to underside of flap lining up the halves.
- Turn pouch inside out and square bottom corners.
- Turn right side out; attach a bow to the flap.
