Work Statement
No matter where life takes me, I always find my thoughts returning home. I use the softness and familiarity of fabric in conjunction with the abstract shapes form the intangible qualities of the home that cannot be captured through concrete objects. I allow the natural inclinations of fabric to guide me, and embrace the unexpected turns that the process takes. The fabric translates itself from the visual realm into the tactile. A contemplation of the physical space in which we reside and the ephemerality of them, the painting extends beyond the brush and oil paint. The fabric becomes the medium through which the form and color of the painting takes shape.
