Brian Hartwig

I am a doctoral candidate in the English Department, where I focus on Nineteenth- and Twentieth-Century American literature, drama, and culture. My dissertation explores the interplay between American prose and drama at the turn of the twentieth century. Before coming to Stony Brook, I earned an M.A. in American Studies from Columbia University, where I wrote my thesis on the modernist playwright Elmer Rice and his engagement with early Hollywood's fan culture.
