MA Student David Acevedo praised in NY Times rave review

Stony Brook graduate student David Acevedo got a shoutout in the New York Times. He plays trumpet in the new music group Orlando Furioso and was praised in the New York Times recently with the thrilling headline, “Outshining a Premiere, a Group Announces Its Arrival.” The Time’s described the group’s playing, with recognition for Acevedo’s work, as “delirious” and “even revelatory.” David writes, “The Times review was a surprise to us… I’m sure we would have been much more nervous if we knew the reporter was there. It was a great honor to premiere this great music at Roulette—it’s an even greater honor to be praised by such a distinguished publication.” David is a masters student in the Music Department’s composition program.
