Congratulations to our music department alumnus, pianist Bowei Chen (BA, 2013/MM, 2015/DMA, 2020), for winning the second place at The American Prize competition 2022, professional division.
Dr. Chen has performed in Italy, Austria, Germany, Greece, France, Japan, America, and many parts of China. He has appeared as a collaborative pianist in many major concert halls including the Haus des Wiener Musikvereins in Austria, multiple appearances at National Center for the Performing Arts in China, the Beijing Concert Hall, and the Weill Recital Hall at the Carnegie Hall. He served as the pianist of the world-touring and award-winning Beijing International Children’s Choir for many years. As a dedicated collaborative pianist, Dr. Chen has performed with many elite artists and music organizations on their recitals and commercial productions worldwide, including famous Guzheng artist Zhou Wang, internationally renowned violinist Siqing Lu, Grammy-Nominated soprano Malinda Haslett, and many more.
