Avery Morris (DMA candidate, violin), 2023 – 2024 Czech Fulbright Award Scholar, published an article this past summer in the peer-reviewed Czech music journal, Živá Hudba entitled “A Performer’s Approach to Gideon Klein’s Quarter-Tone String Duo and ‘Fantasietta'”. This article and research into Gideon Klein are part of her Fulbright Award diving into the Czech modernist composer. Avery wrote to thank her Fulbright advisor Iva Oplištilová (music theory, Academy of Performing Arts in Prague), and at Stony Brook University Jennifer Frautschi, Hagai Shaham, Erika Honisch, and August Sheehy.
