Crochet Pattern of the Month!

I’m new to this, but I think it’s time to get my crochet on!  (I might need help, so if you do this, maybe stop by the CAT Lab and see if I’m alright.)

I got myself set up with an account on Ravelry.

I asked GPT if there was a site like Thingaverse, but for crocheting – turns out there are a number of them:

  • Ravelry — a huge community and pattern database for knitters and crocheters: patterns, yarn stash tracking, project journals, forums.

  • AllFreeCrochet — thousands of free patterns across many categories (hats, blankets, amigurumi, wearables, home decor).

  • LoveCrafts — offers both free and paid crochet patterns, for many project types.

  • Ribblr — a modern platform for crochet (and other fiber-arts) patterns, with a marketplace for buying/selling designs, interactive patterns, smart sizing & pattern-format tools.

  • Yarnspirations — maintains a large library (10,000+ patterns) including crochet projects (blankets, hats, accessories, etc.) free to download.

So – of course my first pattern has to be a cat and I purchased myself some bright red yard so I can make Ruby.  If you want to make it with me, here is the free pattern I chose:

Learn how to create this Lily the Cat Amigurumi with this free cat crochet pattern. This is an easy to crochet pattern, perfect for beginners. It is also very quick to make, takes about an hour.

You can use any yarn to make it. I made a small keychain mini cat from sport weight cotton yarn and a bigger cat from Chenille Super Bulky plush yarn. The pattern has a full video included on how to make this cute cat Amigurumi.
